Verdi's Aida is opera at its grandest: the tragic love story set in ancient Egypt now returns to the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
The young princess Aida, daughter of the Ethiopian king Amonasros, is held as a slave by the Egyptian court. She is in love with the soldier Radamés who passionately returns her feelings. Their love is nothing but easy, and intrigues and politics has their saying in this tragic love story.
Aida is sung in the original language Italian.
